The true character of ministry is a servants heart

Ministries

The responsibility of ministry teams is to seek to develop new opportunities, as well as to facilitate the normal tasks of the congregation. This particular concept of ministry teams came out of the Refocusing process that the congregation participated in during the years of 1999 and 2000, as well as the Church wanting to place emphasis on helping congregational members discover and employ their spiritual gifts in ministry and service.

What makes ministries unique at Riverview is that we have no set membership on these teams. You are not appointed nor elected, you might be invited, but generally the ministry teams have an open invitation to anyone who has a passion for this particular area of ministry and a desire to assist in the development of that area.

If you are unsure of what you have to offer or where your place is within the Ministry teams, RCC periodically offers classes on discovering your Spiritual Gift. If you are interested in them, contact the church office. Otherwise, come to a Team meeting to check them out. If you’re a good fit, stay and help.

At certain times there may not be a ministry that is offered at Riverview and yet you feel God leading you to move in that direction. The Ministry Team meeting is the time and place to explore and discuss that passion and vision. Feel free to talk to the Pastor or one of the Consistory members about your vision of ministry. One of the key values of Riverview is that ministry is a shared ministry, and the role of the Church is to facilitate your service in the kingdom of God.

Contact the Church Office, rprc@iw.net, if you are interested in serving on any of our Ministry Teams. Please indicate which team you are interested in.

Meeting Times and Places
Ministry teams will meet generally three or four times annually. One in late summer before the fall schedule begins, then a second meeting during the fall. A third is scheduled early winter and finally once more after Easter.

The meetings are usually held on Sunday evenings and will last no more than an hour and a half. With all the team meetings at the same time and in the same place we can coordinate ministry opportunities together.
